WFYI is a full service television station in Indianapolis, Indiana, broadcasting on local digital UHF channel 21 and virtual channel 20. Founded in 1970, it is owned by Metropolitan Indianapolis Public Broadcasting, Inc. WFYI is a member station of PBS (Public Broadcasting Service). In addition to its PBS programming, WFYI airs locally produced programs with information concerning local interest, culture, history and education. WFYI is a multiplexed channel, with three subchannels. WFYI and PBS programming is carried on 20.1; on 20.2 is V-me, with Spanish-language PBS programs, and 20.3 carries The Indiana Channel, featuring the people, places, history and culture of Indiana; Create, with how-to and lifestyle programs, and Classic Arts Showcase, with video samplings of art, music, ballet, theatrical performances and classic films.
