KBGS-TV PBS Billings - United States Television

KBGS-TV is a full service television station in Billings, Montana, broadcasting on local digital UHF channel 16. Founded in 2009, it is a member station of of Montana PBS. It is a multiplexed channel with its PBS and local productions on channel 16.1, PBS Kids on 16.2, Create on 16.3, PBS World on 16.4 and the TVMT simulcast on 16.5. The University of Montana journalism and radio/television departments and the documentary filmmaking at Montana State University contribute programs by staff and students such as “Backroads of Montana,” “11th and Grant,” and “Montana Ag Live.” MontanaPBS reaches over 150 communities in Montana. KUSM signed on for the first time on October 1, 1984, making Montana the last state to have its own PBS station. Prior to 1984, Montana received PBS programming from KSPS-TV in Spokane; Prairie Public Television in North Dakota; KRMA-TV in Denver; and KUED.
