WPPX-TV ION Wilmington - United States Television

WPPX-TV is a full service television station in Wilmington, Delaware, broadcasting on local digital UHF channel 31 and virtual channel 61. Founded in 1986 as WGTI-TV on analog channel 61, it owned by Ion Media Networks. It is an affiliate of ION, featuring a broad mix of popular television series, theatrical and made-for-television movies, specials and sports. WPPX-TV’s channel has three subchannels, all with ION programming. On 61.1 is ION’s basic programming; On 61.2 is qubo, ION’s children’s television specialty channel, broadcasting in English and Spanish, and on 61.3 is ION Life, airing lifestyle programming during the day, and movies in the evening. At its founding, WPPX-TV was a general entertainment independent station, then became affiliated with Spanish- language channel Telemundo from 1987 until 1995, inTV from 1995 until 1998. In 1998, the station became affiliated with PAX TV, and stayed with the network as it changed from PAX to i to Ion. From 1986 until 1998, the station used the call sign WCFC-TV, and it was shown on analog channel 61 from 1986 until 2009.
