SuperSport HD - South Africa Television

SuperSport HD 1 was the first HD TV channel on the African continent. It launched with the 2008 Summer Olympic Games and aired exclusively Olympic content. At the end of the tournament, the channel was shut down and made into being a feature on Mnent HD. However, it soon returned on its own, though not initially for a full 24 hour schedule. During the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the IRB Rugby World Cup, this channel was made exclusively available to that particular sports.
