KVIE is a full service television station in Sacramento, California, broadcasting on local digital VHF channel 9 and virtual channel 6. Founded in 1959, it is owned by KVIE, Inc. KVIE is a member station of PBS (Public Broadcasting Service). In addition to its PBS programming, KVIE airs locally produced programs with information concerning local interest, culture, history and education. KVIE is a multiplexed channel, with three subchannels. KVIE and PBS programming is carried on 6.1; on 6.2 is KVIE2, PBS Encore, with replays of current PBS programs, and V-me is carried on 6.3, with Spanish-language PBS programs.
