KCEC-TV Univision Denver - United States Television

KCEC is a full service television station in Denver, Colorado, broadcasting on local digital UHF channel 51 and virtual channel 50. Founded in 1990, it is owned by Entravision. It is an affiliate of Univision, a United States network of Spanish language programming. Univision started as KWEX-TV in San Antonio, which began as KCOR-TV in 1955, the first full-time Spanish-language station in America and the first UHF station in the country. Univision operates its own television production company called Univision Studios, which produces original content for the network, such as “Sabado Gigante” game show, the talk shows “El Show de Cristina” and “Casos de Familia,” the daily morning music video program “Tu Desayuno Alegre,” the reality competition series “Nuestra Belleza Latina,” and national news programming including the flagship Noticiero Univision newscast, “Primer Impacto” and the morning news program “Despierta America.” Univision includes programming from Mexican broadcast network Televisa and Venezuelan broadcast network Venevision. KCEC’s website went live in 2008 with live stream news stories and local promostion. It is judged to be among the most popular Spanish language sites in Denver.
